I am currently working with the seasonal water yield model and I am trying to compare the local recharge output values with groundwater recharge values from another ressource. I know the values are relative values and not absolute, anyhow I thougth of calibrating the model in this way. Do you have any expierince with this? Further, I was asking myself, if there is any possibility to obtain also local recharge intermediate outputs for the single months as well? I have seen, that you get them for quickflow, but not for local recharge.
I haven’t tried to do this, but given the simplicity of this model, and the recommendation not to take the local recharge values too literally, it seems reasonable to use groundwater recharge values as perhaps more of a sanity check than an actual calibration. For example, you could see how well the patterns of high and low recharge compare, and rely less on the actual values.
The model computes local recharge using annual values of precipitation, quickflow and actual evapotranspiration, so there are no monthly outputs created. We would need to change the underlying methodology to create monthly outputs for local recharge, which, as far as I know, is not currently planned.
Okay, thanks for your reply. I was thinking of trying to compare it to maybe get a factor of how the trends align with other simulations. then I will just use the yearly output
