I would like to know if there is another database available on Hydrological Soil Groups for Brazil. I am using HYSOGs250m, due to the resolution, only one soil type is displayed.
I have the same problem. I’m working on a city in the southern Chile. Only two soil type are displayed. Were you able to solve the problem? Thanks!
Hello @Fernanda -
At a global scale, the User Guide has pointers to two soil group layers, HYSOGs250m and Future Water. They are both rather different, but they are also both coarse. So it’s a good idea to try the other layer if one doesn’t look good to you.
If neither of these work, then you’ll need to look for more local, national or regional data. If you have spatial data about sand and clay, or hydraulic conductivity, you can estimate the soil groups using the information that’s provided at the same User Guide link above.
