We’re excited to share with this community a new massive open online course (or “MOOC”), Natural Capital for Development: Valuation, Investment and Policy, as well as a new Implementation Toolkit for Scaling Natural Capital Approaches. These were developed through a collaboration between the Stanford Natural Capital Alliance and the Inter-American Development Bank, with funding from the Global Environment Facility.
The MOOC is a free, self-paced, 20-hour course for public officials and practitioners seeking practical tools to integrate nature into policy, planning, and investment. Participants learn how natural capital assessment, accounting, and valuation can support decision-making that strengthens systemic resilience, competitiveness, and sustainable growth. The Toolkit is a collection of resources designed for practitioners, government professionals, academics, and consultants who want to apply natural capital approaches in their own work.
