InVEST 3.19.0 Introduces New Urban Mental Health Model

We are excited to announce the release of InVEST 3.19.0, which includes the following changes:

  • InVEST introduces a new model: Urban Mental Health. This model estimates the number of preventable cases (and optionally, associated costs) of mental health conditions linked to changes in urban nature exposure. Using NDVI as a proxy, it applies an exposure-response relationship to quantify how increases in nearby vegetation can reduce risk of mental health outcomes. Users can analyze scenarios using either LULC or NDVI inputs. For more information, please see the User Guide for Urban Mental Health. If you have any questions or experience issues with this new model, please feel free to reach out on the forum and use the new urban-mental-health tag!

  • The Seasonal Water Yield model now generates a report containing visual summaries of model inputs and outputs. This report is designed to help users more easily interpret results, validate data and model behavior, and explore visualizations of key outputs. For an example, see the Sample Seasonal Water Yield Report, generated by running the SWY model with the SWY sample data.

For a complete list of the changes made in InVEST 3.19.0, please see the InVEST changelog.
