Global data for African countries

Do you have global datasets that can be used as input data for specific African countries like Zambia

Hi @slysiame -

I’ve moved this question to a new topic to keep the forum tidy for others, as the previous thread was 4 years old and only partially related.

In general, global datasets can be used anywhere in the world that they cover, including Zambia. How applicable they are depends on their resolution and accuracy in your particular study area. But often we simply don’t have more local data, so global data is the best available.

Check out the NatCap Data Hub, where we provide global datasets for some of the InVEST model inputs (and we’re working on adding more). Once you find a dataset that you’re interested in, you can zoom in to your area of interest, clip the layer to that area, reproject it to your project’s coordinate system, and download it. Hopefully you’ll find some of the data that you need there.
