What should be the value for building types? Like for slum area, tinshed, residential, hospital
The damage value will vary a lot based on the different building types, local property values, etc, they are very location-specific. So it is hard to provide a suggestion for which specific values people should use. You will need to do research to find information related to cost of fixing or re-building that particular building type in that particular place.
The User Guide Data Sources Appendix also points to a document by the European Commission that could be a useful starting point.
Since this is a very simple model that does not quantify actual flooding levels or extents, it might be ok to use relative damage values, perhaps a proxy based on square meter purchase value, which could be easier information to obtain.
