Dear team how we define the biophysical table for the land use classes?
Hi @ed_T and welcome to the forum!
Could you please provide more details about the issue you’re having and which model you’re working with? As a general pointer, the User’s Guide provides information about the inputs for all of our models, including the biophysical tables. I’d recommend taking a look at the “Data Needs” section for the model you’re using. We also provide sample data for each model, including example biophysical tables, so you can see what the format, column names, etc. need to look like.
@megannissel Thank you for reaching out . I am working on urban cooling model and It is confusing how to determine the values of shade, kc and albedo .
Hi @ed_T,
For Kc, you may find the User’s Guide Data Sources section on Kc helpful. It links to a couple of resources that can be used to find / calculate Kc values, including an online resource provided by FAO and a spreadsheet provided by the Natural Capital Project.
For albedo, I’d recommend taking a look at the literature recommended by the User’s Guide here:
Albedo for urban built infrastructure can be found in local microclimate literature. Deilami et al. 2018 and Bartesaghi et al. 2018 provide a useful review. Stewart and Oke (2012) provide value ranges for typical LULC categories.
For shade, this previous forum post about calculating shade values may be helpful: Urban Cooling Model shade values on sample data
In general, there are several prior conversations on the forum related to this topic; please browse the discussions under the urban-cooling tag here: Topics tagged urban-cooling
Thank you alot I will go through the documents again
